I've been going through my 4e books with the errata, trying to update everything. What I don't like though is that the monster damage values haven't been officially updated (to be fair that would update nearly every entry in the book) but the damage values in the DMG have been.
I've figured out that for normal damage, you can just add half level (original values were 8+level/2, new values are 8+level so this works great). However, I can't figure out what the difference in brute, limited and brute+limited should be. Looks like the new way to do it is to multiply with 1.25 and 1.5, but was that the old way too? Should I be adding 0.625xlevel and 0.75xlevel for the brutes and encounter powers?
By the way, I know this gives me a larger flat bonus to damage, but I don't mind that. I just want to update the average damage ranges, not have all the correct dice.
