As the title says, looking to play a dark heresy campaign! I know a bit of the warhammer lore but it's been a while since I read any of the books so I wouldn't feel comfortable DMing, so a DM and at least 2 other players needed, experienced or new! I've never gotten a chance to play before myself, but I've spent a long time looking over both the core book and the inquisitor's handbook, but it's been a while since that too.
I'm in the UK, so GMT +0, but I can be pretty flexible with time frames. Let me know if you want to play!

I know a lot about 40k Lore (used to play the tabletop game. Daemonhunters forever!), and I've gone over the rulebook before, but never actually played.
I'm leaving my job to go back to school at the end of the week, so my schedule will open up considerably.

Also, if anyone would prefer to play 2e, I don't know it at all but I'd be up to for playing it!

I'll be honest, I'd love to give it a try, but I know very little about the setting (*coughgrendelcough*)

SO I HEARD YOU NEEDED A DM
I WILL BE THAT DM.
I LOVE WARHAMMER.
In ways that are hard to express and impolite in public! I am also an experienced DM. If you three wish to play, so far so good!
Any ideas as to what kind of campaign we wish to play? Gritty inquisitorial drama? Ocean world hives, battling each other to the death under oil-choked seas? Perhaps a space hulk crawl, where we all get to the play the bestest game in the world- shoot the genestealer before it enters melee!
I will say that I want it to be a game that is more "expect your character to die" than is normal; I feel that genuinely expecting character death is an important part of Dark Heresy. I don't intend to Killer GM this whole thing but Dark Heresy is DEADLY; so we gotta respect that.
We also have to figure out how we'll do this. If it's play by post, then I can totally run that. If it's over video, we'll have to figure out a schedule and a program.

The last PbP game I played fizzled out pretty quickly. I'd probably prefer live, but if you're a good expediter and can keep everyone focussed, then I'll try PbP.

Generally I prefer to make all PBP games have a requirement of "1 post a day", which tends to make them move so much smoother. I'm not sure I have the equipment for a video setup but I'll test my equipment over the next few days; perhaps we can do a first-game "sit in" then move on to PBP if everyone is satisfied with both my DMing style and my gorgeous hamhock of a face.

We could do it with voice without doing video (I wouldn't be able to use video anyway), I don't think video is really too necessary. I'd also prefer a live game if that's cool with everyone else, I feel like they move a lot quicker and they feel more involved!
Also Xander, not knowing much about the setting just makes everything seem more dangerous! There's some things that are kind of laughable when you know more about them, but if you don't then they're scary as the rest when they're hitting you in the face!
A gritty inquisitorial drama with a healthy side of shooting things sounds good to me! Spacehulk sounds interesting, but I don't really see just that keeping up as a campaign. Could be our first mission possibly!

Alright, that's one vote for gritty inquisitorial drama with MURDER as a powerful sideline! And a space hulk for the first mission! Any other votes?

It sounds good to me. I just have a few questions about stuff. like the explosive collars. Do those auto kill you, or can you survive if you're a badass enough dude?

It'd be a pretty crappy collar if it didn't kill you. There'd be lawsuits up the ass from whoever bought it.

THEORETICALLY an exploding collar might not kill you, but usually because it malfunctions and doesn't go off vs. you being a bad enough dude to survive. I would offer a character a chance to have the thing mess up and not explode, but I'd auto-kill anyone wearing one who had it go off. It's dynamite around your neck- no way to survive it.

Well, that ruins an NPC concept. At least with you. Anyways, time to share skypes?
