So, for who hasn't heard of Everyone is John, the synopsis is that you all play a personality of one very disturbed man*. You take turns in controlling John, trying to achieve your personal obsession or goal. The full rules are open source and can be found here: pftdcast.com/resources/EveryoneIsJohn.pdf.
The game I'm proposing is a hybrid of play-by-post and personal play. I'll be the GM, since this won't be very time-consuming.
I'll go through the following steps with all who wish to participate:
0 - First all players will PM me your obsession and skills. Once I've received PMs from all players, we'll move onto step 1.
1 - I'll describe a scene on the IC board. All players can for 72 hours after making the post (3 days) PM me their bids. Deadline will be mentioned in the post and we'll progress to step 2 after 72 hours or when I've received all bids.
2 - I'll inform the highest bidder and we try to find a time and a place with dice-rolling capability to sit down, preferably within one week. You can ask questions and do your actions, rolling your skill checks until you lose control. We both save the story and go to step 3.
3 - The player has 2 days after we sit down to make what happened into a nice post and post it to the IC board. If you don't have time, I'll type it out for you, no problem, but you have two days to make it into an awesome story yourself, narrated from your point of view. If there are still players with willpower left we go to step 1, otherwise we progress to step 4.
4 - I reveal on the OC discussion threat the winner and delight in our game. If we enjoyed it, we go to step 0, with the winner as GM (unless they don't want to, and I'll step up by default).
So I'm looking for any numbers of players between 2 and ∞. Since I'll only sit down with one person at the same time, this should work. If you don't have time at a particular moment, you get passed over while just keeping your willpower, so you can jump back in later in the game. So as long as you think you can find one moment a week to sit down with me should you win the vote, you're welcome! I'll even allow people to jump in late, although their willpower will be limited to the average willpower currently on the table, so they'll have less chances of winning. But who cares about winning if they're having fun, right?
*I feel I should mention that though it might resemble it, this is not how multiple-personality disorder works, nor is it an accurate representation of multiple-personality disorder. It is also in no way, shape or form meant to make light of or ridicule people who suffer from this very serious condition.
