The ground rolls around John as he awakens. Being tossed lightly back and forth, he opens his eyes, trying to divine his surroundings and the reason for the ground heaving. Unfortunately opening his eyes reveals only a few shafts off light falling through high walls surrounding him. As his eyes accustom themselves to the darkness, he hears the sound of gulls in the distance. Slowly everything comes into clearer view. Although it is still dark, he can see he is in some sort of hold, holding several large labelled crates. The light shafts come from portholes in a high metal bow. John is pretty sure he is in the hold a large ship currently at sea... but whereto, where from and... oh no, there come the voices!

I woke up with a headache. I woke up with headaches before, both from alcohol, and from getting knocked out, but this was different. When I stood up, the whole world was shaking. After some tries I stood up, and looked at my surroundings. A metal room, filled with crates and a ladder. I checked the single door, but behind it pounded the dark hammer of corruption, and I dared not enter. I checked a crate, and inside I founnd some extremely importent documents pertaining the buisness of the Umbrellacorp, as well as some of their... goods. I climbed the ladder, noting my shirt was smelly along the way. I had the papers still in hand when I went through the hatch, and found out why the world was swaying: I'd been suggled aboard a ship. A John and a Jane Doe were standing there, watching as I tried opening a cabin (I'd determined a trap slightly ahead, and tried to prepare). Getting an idea, I approached the dame, getting her into her cabin with me. I tried 'knocking her out', but it was then the mister knocked ME out.

John, now with a painful head, wakes up in the back of a car. Some static pierces through his head and he notes that it's a radio in the front of the car, although what comes out is unintelligible to him. He notes that he is lying down, but his feet are swung out the open passenger door. He still hears seagulls, but the swaying has stopped. Besides that, he can see just the top of the car and a pier out the door. It is day and he can clearly smell the sea. In the distance he hears some faint talking. It should also be worth mentioning his hands are handcuffed behind his back.

John suddenly hears the voice of an old woman somewhere in the dark reaches of his mind, "Wake up John... Wake up! It is time to get to work!! *light cackling* I see you are in a car... is it moving? Look around... Where are you?" John gets up, his head still swaying slightly, and looks around. He sees that he is in the back of a police car, and a metal screen to his right is in position to stop him from getting at the cops in the front... who are not there. His feet are dangling curiously out of the side of the cruiser, almost as if someone wanted him to get some fresh air. The car is parked in a small parking lot, near an expanse of water that John is unable to see across. The other half of his viewfield is filled with a hilly coastal town built around the cliff-sides brought up by the salty water. Some distance away he sees a huge harbor with several big ships in it, most prominently a huge cruise ship. The conversation he hears is two policemen, or at least what he suspects to be policemen, talking to a man dressed as a sailor. They're speaking proper English, but the policemen speak in what could be non-American vernacular. Several roads snake off from the parking lot, most going into town, some going to the harbor. The sun sets toward twilight, the magic hour.
The voice comes shrieking into his head once more, "John... get up, get up!! The scent of salt will compliment the scent of blood!! If it is power you desire, as I do, do as I say... get up John and see your destiny come to light! You are my INSTRUMENT! I AM YOUR MUSE!! KILL THE POLICEMEN JOHN! GET THE KEY TO YOUR CUFFS! STRANGLE THEM WITH THESE IRON SHACKLES IN THE MEANTIME TO SHOW THEM THE MEANING OF IRONY!" John gets up, his dizziness now mostly faded. They don't seem to have noticed John awaking, apparently not used to people of his stamina. He can even slip his hands beneath his feet, leaving the handcuffs in front. John gets up, with the intent to kill. The policemen don't notice him sneaking up, cuff chain dangling between his hands, but the sailor does. On an impulse, the sailor runs up to John and punches him square in the head, knocking him out. The policemen stand, embarrassed that their job was done by a man in a sailor outfit.

Alarms are blaring, sirens can be heard. Something gooey is running down John's face. A fire crackles in the not too far distance and electrical zaps and pangs can be heard. As he opens his eyes, he can see the world is sideways once again. Around him toys are strewn everywhere. He's actually lying on a pile of small purple winged plush elephants. It must've saved him, because around him is rubble, fire and glass. Looking around he sees a cop car has drilled into the front of a store. He might actually be concerned about this, but the voices are coming back again...
