So I have recently finished the first large story arc with my playgroup (of my best friends in the world), using the rules of AD&D 1E. We had a blast, especially with the ambiguity in the rules allowing for strange scenarios. I am now considering converting to 2E, as everyone wants to have new characters and play in a different part of the world I've created, so it wouldn't interrupt anything ongoing if we were to change rulesets. My question is, however, does playing 2E still give that Old-School/Rules-but-no-Rules type of vibe? Sure we could just play our own style, but I also do want sooommeee guidance as far as ability based action checks etc. Basically what is anyone's experience with 2E and what can I expect to be different from 1E?
Cheers, Trinnith
