I still love Mystara.

I really love Mystara. There's so much stuff built up in that setting, from the individual kingdoms in the Known World to the incredible high-concept material in the Hollow World. I'll take the complex Shadow Elves and their nuances over the "scheming" Drow any day, and I love how Halflings have their own special magical sources as a parallel to the Elves and the Dwarves.

One of these days I'm going to run a Final Fantasy Tactics style game set in the Known World (right, like I could keep it just there...) where the players pull characters for each mission from the Adventurer's Guild that their core PCs run.
